Terms of sale
Effective September 24, 2026.
These terms apply to purchases from Tokyo Omamori Post, an independent shop run by a sole proprietor in Tokyo, Japan (see Seller information). We sell to individuals in the United States who are at least 18 years old. By placing an order you agree to these terms and confirm that you meet this requirement.
What we sell
We sell omamori and other charms that we obtain in person or through the official channels of temples and shrines in Japan. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any temple or shrine.
Charms are traditional religious and cultural items. We do not claim or guarantee that any charm will bring particular results.
Product photos are of the actual items we sell, but colors and designs can vary slightly between batches, as temples and shrines sometimes update their designs.
Where we ship
We currently ship to addresses in the United States only.
Prices, duties and tax
Prices are in US dollars. Set prices (3 or 5 charms) are applied automatically in your bag. US import duties are included in our prices, so you will not be asked to pay duties on delivery.
US state sales tax, where it applies, is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay.
Orders and payment
Payment is processed by Stripe when you place your order. Your order is confirmed when payment is completed and you receive a confirmation email.
If a charm becomes unavailable after you order, we will contact you and offer a replacement of similar value or a refund for that item.
Cancellations
We start preparing orders soon after they are placed, so we generally cannot accept cancellations once an order is confirmed. If you made a mistake in your order or address, email us right away and we will do our best to help if your order has not been posted yet.
Shipping and delivery
We usually post orders from Tokyo within 2 business days for charms we keep in stock, and in about 1 week for charms we obtain from the temple after you order (shown on each product page). Standard shipping (tracked airmail) takes about 3 weeks and Express (EMS) about 1 week. These are estimates, not guarantees; delivery can be delayed by customs or the postal service.
Please make sure your shipping address is correct. If a package is returned to us because the address was incorrect or it was not collected, we will contact you. We can re-send it if you pay the new shipping cost, or refund the price of the items minus the shipping and duty costs we have already paid.
Lost packages
Every order is tracked. If your package has not arrived and tracking has not updated for a long time, contact us. We will open an inquiry with Japan Post. If Japan Post confirms that the package was lost, we will send a replacement or give you a full refund, whichever you prefer.
Returns and damaged items
Because charms are religious items, we do not accept returns for a change of mind. If an item arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, email us within 14 days of delivery with a photo, and we will send a replacement or refund that item. You do not need to send the item back.
Refunds are made to your original payment method.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the consumer protection laws that apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and the Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance, except where the consumer protection laws of your place of residence require otherwise.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version in effect when you place your order applies to that order.
